Tattooing is an ancient as mankind. It has always been primarily an expression of the human relationship to the primary, the physical side of life: the link between the spirit world and the world of body. Known and glorified by all major world civilizations, over the centuries have been developed showing traditional styles, motifs of individual nations and peoples.
The oldest tattooed preserved body was discovered in 1991 - from the Bronze Age man, who died before 5200 years. Under the left knee had a Cross tattoo and six straight lines.
